In 2011, the art center “Pushkinskaya-10” is turning 22 years old. The Holiday takes on a more balanced, reflective, character that aims to put everything in its place. The event has even been given a new name – “ALTER-EGO”— which is meant to signify a return to non-traditional genres of contemporary art.

For the month of June, the Gallery of Experimental Sound-21 has prepared a special program that sums up the 12-year existence of this unique concert hall. http://www.tac.spb.ru/

On 25 June, at 15:00, “Pushkinskaya-10’s” birthday festivities will begin. The celebration will open with the performance “Inside,” which will be composed of several elements: plastic theater, parade, video art and animation. The complex action has been created by the designers MANka (Mariya Manuilova) and TaraGinz (Tarasova Olga, Ginz Yana), with the theater group “The Itinerant Puppets of Mister Peugeot”
The visual portion of “Alter Ego” will be presented along with the Moscow Media Forum project. In the Main Hall of the Museum of Nonconformist art, there will open a retrospective of works from 1989-2009, “TRANSITLAND: video art of Central and Eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall” We note that the events of the year 1989 are very symbolic for all of our Eurocentric civilization. It is not by chance that it is precisely during this time, underground forces began to emerge to the surface of Russian society and culture with furious speed. As a bold example of this trend, the art center “Pushkinskaya-10” itself appears in the year 1989.
Also on June 25th, in the small hall of the Museum of Nonconformist Art, the exhibit, “New Names,” which has become a traditional part of “Pushkinskaya-10’s” birthday festivities, will open. Professional artists, not previously introduced into the orbit of the museum’s exhibition activity, have been invited to take part.
In the “Art Liga” Gallery, at 18:00, a presentation of Sergei Kovalsky’s film and book of visual poetry “Colourword of the Transrainbow” will take place.
In the Museum of the New Academy of Fine Arts there will take place an exhibit of Timur Novik’s works from the 1980’s.

In the “Door Gallery,” the art group Augenstern (Christiane Prehn, Wolfgang Meyer) will produce a media installation that utilizes family photographs of people living in Germany.
It will be possible to view the traditional exhibition of painting, objects, installations and photography by Art Center “Pushkinskaya-10” artists from 30th June to 28th August. At this time, all who desire to cool down during the hottest days of summer may view the work that the most interesting Petersburg artists have completed over the past year.

On July 2nd and 3rd, in the music club Fish Fabrique Nouvelle, the final event of “ATER EGO’s” history will be take place: the Festival of Experimental Rock Music. It is only at first glance that the life of rock music finds itself in a stage, where all models have been cast and carefully polished.  Thus, we will witness rock in its experimental form.
