Sergey Dobrotvorsky
I had the privilege of bringing Sergey to England in the early 1990s for the South West Arts tour New Leningrad Eccentrics. He was a constant source of sparkling ideas and astute observation on the future of Russian film and foresaw very clearly how it would have commercial success in the horror genre. He also had a huge dog named after James Bond, it still makes me laugh to think of Bonya dragging him round St Petersberg. I miss his absurdist sense of fun and wish he were still around.
